Brian Mitchell

DIRECTOR OF COACHING

Coach Mitchell has served as the Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach at Archbishop Williams High School since 2008 where he has led the Bishops to the MIAA playoffs in all 17 of his seasons.

In 2011, Mitchell was voted as the EMSCA Coach of The Year by his peers after being at the helm for only four seasons. He then went on to lead the program to back to back South Sectional Titles in 2014 and 2015 while being named EMSCA for a second time in 2014, as well as Boston Globe Coach of The Year that same year.

The United Soccer Coaches, USSF, and NFHS licensed coach has also been involved with coaching at the youth level for the former Boston Rams Academy from 2011 to 2017, where he worked with and coached the High School age groups ranging from U15 to U19.  He has guided his Commonwealth FC teams to the Massachusetts Youth Soccer State Cup Finals in 2017, 2018 and 2024.

As a standout player in high school at Saint John’s Shrewsbury, he earned the opportunity to then move onto the next level to play for Stonehill College, where he captained the side his senior year.

 Coach Mitchell also currently serves on the Board of Directors as the President of the Eastern Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Association.  In addition, Brian volunteers as both a director and coach for Braintree Youth Soccer and the Junior Academy Programs.
